2006 Focus Sport Strange Alarm Sound

Featured Replies

I moved my focus in the driveway this morning and everything was fine.

Approx 5 minutes later I went to start the car and while all the usual ignition lights illuminated the engine was completely dead. In addition I can hear a low-level constant alarm sound coming from the engine when the key is removed from the ignition and the car is locked.

Could anyone advise what the issue may be?

Thanks

sounds to me like immobiliser, did you have a red light going nuts on the dash?

No the immobiliser was working as normal. After an hour or so the alarm sound from the engine stopped and the car started as normal - very strange indeed!

Could have been water ingress into the fuse area... will have to see how it goes and see what happens!
