Fiesta Mk7 Keyless Entry And Start Questions.

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have just purchased my first car, a mk7 fiesta titanium. It has keyless entry and start. Second hand purchase.

I want to know about the key lock it had on the door.

When I was looking at the car I didn't think anything of it. Should there be a physical key with the car as well? Incase the battery runs out in the fob?

I'm just worried if the battery runs out I will never be able to get in the car until I get a new battery.

Can someone go into more detail on the keyless system for me please.

Thanks

There is a key blade inside the fob. At the keyring end you will see two grips push them in together and the part with the ford badge on should start to lift. Pull it off and there will be your key blade.

As for starting, if the keys battery is flat you are supposed to just hold the key where the ignition barrel normally is and the immobiliser system should detect the chip in the fob passively.
