Knock When Turning The Wheel On Rough Surface

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 focus with 98000 miles and I have noticed a clear knock when driving slowly on a bumpy surface with the wheel turned to the left (although not 100% sure if its also on the right). This does not happen when I am driving in a straight line, only when turning. Mechanic checked the disk brakes and they were ok and told me its a problem with a bush inside the steering rack. Unfortunately I would have to change the whole rack because of it but he assured me that it wont cause any problems apart from the noise.

Anyone also came across this? would you agree with what my mechanic told me?

thanks

Mark

Not heard of this issue I'm afraid but in my opinion always worth getting a second opinion from another mechanic as you never know!
