Add in some nice ST170 bits is a good place to start and sometime these can be relatively cheap if you keep your eyes open. ST170 clear side repeaters look cool, are easy to fit and don't cost the earth. Also ST170 pedals fit any manual Focus and don't cost that much if you get lucky on ebay. Upgrade your headlight bulbs, change your interior, change your wheels there's loads to do just depends on what sort of mods you want and how much you want to spend :D

Be careful though, once you start modding it can be highly addictive!

ok thanks im only gonna do a couple mods as ill sell it on after doing a few bits. if i get a focus for about £100-£150 ill have about £300 to spend on mods

start with subtle things - footwell lighting amongst other things, DMB gel overlays to tidy the badges up if necessary, then it really depends what you want to mod, cosmetics? functionality?

they all look good might add them bits on

Depends what you are after are you looking for a set of Ford wheels like ST/RS etc or are you looking to go aftermarket?

Your best bet will probably be ST170 17" multi spokes then. Keep an eye out on ebay and try and pick up a bargain set with tyres :) They're lovely wheels I had them on my old MK1. Bit of a pain to clean though

ive seen them and they are nice wheels aint most alloys a pain to clean though. there mods on the engine do you think would be good?

Can be but multi spoked tend to be the worst. Worth it when they're clean though they look awesome :D

what mods can be done to a 1.6 engine? or some thing that would make it nicer

They do look a little marked if you zoom in but not a bad price I guess with tyres and centre caps.

  • Author

yea not to bad a price ill keep an eye on them till i have my focus

what will be good to brighten up the engine bay?

A nice induction kit always looks good and replaces the standard air box or if it's just colour you're after a nice place to start on the MK1 would be a nice set of uprated ignition leads in blue or similar.

ok thanks ill have a look im gonna go for blue ht leads
