Dash Cam/12V Socket

Ok cool i think i understand, when you attach the red wire to the piggyback fuse, do you need to solder it at all?

nope you just crimp it

Mine is hardwired onto a ignition live fuse. I've always meant to be wire it in properly, but never got round to it. After my troubles at Christmas, I'm tempted to leave the camera in place and not touch it.

BTW, mine runs a 32gb sandisk xtreme sd card, and recorded an entire Nottinghamshire > Cornwall trip, but a few extra trips the following days. More than enough basically.

Don't use 12v sockets.... 1) easier to see/steal 2) too tempting to 'not bother connecting just for the one trip'.
