Loud Click When Passenger Door Is Opened

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 Focus which has developed a problem with the passenger door.

It makes a loud clicking noise when it is opened about a third of the way to fully open. The door is completely undamaged and nothing visible appears to make the noise.

I am not familiar with the inside of the door but would be interested to hear what the problem might be, and if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Thanks

Check along the edge of the door for a decent gap to make sure it's not catching the wing , or it could be a failing door arm (forgot the name )

Bit of oil on the door hinge area should reduce this noise.

Could be the door catch the piece that stops the door opening to far past experience when there's been a clicking sound on a door it's been that come loose might be worth a look .

had a similar problem on my zafira, then it pulled itself out from the post/bulk head, luckily i got hold of a large penny washer and carried out repairs.

make sure you use something like silicone spray or silicone grease.
