The sills aren't looking at their best on my car. Every time i jack the car up they get worse with slight bending and deformation.

Most of the cars ive had do this and i can never find another accessible part to jack from with a trolley jack.

Sills on cars never seem strong enough. Ive seen on some audi's rubber jacking points under the cars which is a good idea.

Jacking with trolley jack onto sills isn't the best, so if you have too stay at front and rear where you would put standard emergency jack and you could get a block of wood about an inch thick and cut a groove in it for the sill lip to fit into, this should protect the lip and also spread the pressure across the block and not press in two small places on the jack cup.

I thought about the block of wood with the groove before, but i was concerned that the part that the wood touches above the sill lip would not take the weight.

make the groove and lip take the weight, difference is lip wont deform as its in groove, do groove deep enough that block stops mm or so short of the contour of the sill, the point is not to balance a cars weight on the edge of a lip with a very small contact point with jack.

would never recommend jacking on sills unless there is a specific strong point to take a jack.

easy way round it is to use the car jack till you have enough room to get a trolley jack in.

When jacking up any car I use the bottom of the wishbone under the big bush on the front and the middle of the axle on the rear can't go wrong no sills to naff up and no underseal to take off chassis

Same here,however if the cars to low then use the car jack to lift enough to get the trolly under,oh and never ever rely on the jack alone,always use axel stands
