Buzzing Noise Mk 7.5 1.0 Ecboost

Featured Replies

Just noticed a loud buzzing noise coming from the rear of the car with the engine switched on, can notice it quite clearly as its loud near the boot/ rear bumper,

Anyone know what this is? Anything to be worried about?

Cheers

I would say that it's either the back box of the exhaust or a loose heatshield if it's similar to the old mk6 the exhaust is very close to the bottom of the car and so has extensive heat shielding which is probably rattling on the pipe, although my mk6 makes this noise only until the exhaust is up to temperature it then goes quiet perhaps it's the way it's designed.

Took it to the dealership, one of the service guys came out and had a look. He said it was the fuel pump nothing to worry about, Its seems to have got louder since the weather has got colder and now very loud and noticeable if you stand behind the car with the engine on ,anyone else noticed this on their fiesta?

I get a buzzing noise from the back of mine too. Just really noticed it a few days ago too. I would say it's probably normal.

It's the fuel pump as the tech said. You'll here it start when you open the drivers door :)

Cheers for the replies, sometimes don't always trust what the Ford guys say, nice to have reassurance from other owners
