Wheels Turning When Not In Gear

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had the fiesta up on axle stands last week (at the front) and when I started it I noticed the wheels where turning ever so slightly, however when I press the clutch they stop, let it back up and they start again. And it definitely wasn't in gear. Doesn't bother me too much unless it is a sign of something wrong.

What could it be and do I need to worry about it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nothing to worry about.

Even in neutral the gearbox cogs are spinning and impart some slight momentum amongst themselves.

as Clive says completely normal ;)

Thanks :)

unless its spinning at miles an hour I wouldnt worry!

Well it's not enough to make the wheels turn when the car is on the ground or make the engine struggle at idle, so it can't be much.

As I say, I only noticed it when the car was on the stands.
