2001 Fiesta 1.8Td Courier Van 50 !

Featured Replies

hi ,

iam new here , i own a 2001 fiesta 1.8td courier 50 van ,

i want to know is it possible to change the whole engine ? and install a fiesta st 2.0 engine & gbox?

if its possible ? what mods needed ? and if its possible ? could i improve the 2.0 st -engine ? & get

more performance from the st 2.0 engine ? like example twin turbo ?

Hi Paul and welcome to the club. I have moved this post into the new member introductions. You should post into the projects and builds section when you start your build and get a few pics in there etc :)

Not sure if anyone has put a 2.0 ST engine into a courier van before but I imagine it would be possible but a lot of work. Have you purchased then engine yet?

Welcome to the family Paul,

Unfortunately the issue is that whilst there may be space in the engine bay for the engine, I believe the orientation and layout of the engine mounting points etc are going to be difficult to rearrange. Not to mention the size of the gearbox may be difficult to do!

hello, jeebowhite , jamesm182 ,

thanks for your interest and reply for my project that iam thinking of doing , no i have not yet brought the engine ! you say

that it would be difficult to do this conversion ? but would it be possible ? jamesm182 ,says its possible but lots of work ?

my iam would be to use the 2.0 st- engine from fiesta if possible does the fiesta st have a 2.0 engine ? im not sure of this

detail ok ,is why iam asking ? iam only a little bit mechanically minded in way of can do some own repairs or engine service

i know a little about cars ,but very limited , is there a possibility of giving my van -2001 fiesta 1.8TD courier 50 ? more power?

than what got now ,ive just seen a plug-in chip thing new-costs £40-00 approx on ebay , and this says it would give upto 95bhp

in total ,the standard bhp=75! , my vision !! is to change engine to the fiesta st-2.0 , and use the st 2.0 gearbox ,front-driveshafts

if i need them ? and exhaust ? i probably will need all these parts ?? would i ? cos ,if i use my standard 1.8td gbox d-shafts ,exhaust it wont sound or give the bhp that the st engine gives out ,i probably lose bhp yes ? im guessing i would need parts

ive mentioned yes ? if yes -i would need all parts ive said ? inc-eng/gbox etc , how much £££ ?? would i need to get all parts ?

needed ? and how long would the conversion take if i had garage or dry weather in my driveway ?

i would need as much info and maybe pictures or diagrams if possible from you if you can help me please ?

regards-paul-

I believe it would be possible, but you would be looking to invest a lot.

As a minimum you may need new gearbox and engine mounts, welding work, the gearbox and engine from a donor vehicle. The wiring harness may need to be changed in order to accommodate the new engine, and additional pipework might be needed along with an intercooler depending if you go for a turbo aspirated engine.

Even without the turbo consideration, your probably looking at the best part of 750 at least?

hi ,

thanks for all info , maybe i should forget idea ? but this would be -make a brilliant van -yes ?? so if its in theory ? possible ?

but no-one out there has attempted this mod- before ? maybe i could be the 1st !! to try ? and maybe succeed ?

i think i will give this a go ,i will show pics of my build as it goes along , so you say £750-00 min -? for engine-gearbox/driveshafts/

wiring-harness/etc -to complete project -would that just be for basic parts and welding ? but not say - a full respray too ?

i guess a body respray would cost approx £2000- ?? for say to make it look like a rs -or st ? oh plus alloys-good sports v tread

tyres too £?? grand ? any-way i will send pics soon ,im starting soon , as soon as i can sell my 1970 rover p5b 3.5v8 coupe

susupected seized engine was running when i got car 2yrs ago been on my drive since i got it needs whole interior re-doing

needs door sills under doors and is very solid car other-wise i got few parts inc-cost me approx £500-parts! not car

i will accept =£1300 cash no offers , im going to put it on here 4-sale , maybe you ? might be interested ? or know someone ?

regards -paul-
