Aftermarket Headunit And Fm Booster On S-Max

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can answer this question: Does the smax have an amplified ariel? and can an ariel booster be used?

This is my current situation:

I have a 2008 1.8 S-max Titanium which had the standard Sony headunit fitted. I purchased the facia adaptor and a Sony XAV601BT double din unit and the connects2 stalk adaptor. I installed fine except the stalk adaptor is faulty and I am awaiting a replacement but I have however been using the stereo without steering controls etc but my other half is moaning about poor radio reception. On our previous Honda civic that too suffered a poor reception but that had a bad chinese headunit in it which was what I put the lack of signal down to. We have also been driving a brand new astra around for a few weeks which has an FM headunit in but the reception is perfect so have I missed something on the install of the headunit?

Thanks

Shaun
