Guest
Hi Guys, 3rd Post of the day.. When i first got my car, the centre console trim (which is a dull silver?) is all scratchy and bits of the plastic seem to have faded...im guessing from previous owner. Now i only want that section around the gear stick and cup holder section, other then that everything else looks good. Is there a way of removing it and replacing it and is it a hard job to do? Thanks Ed
Stoney871
Doddle, just done it myself (along with the whole centre console). Open the armrest and locate the two screws either side of the magnet that holds the armrest down. Undo these and pull the handbrake surround up but not fully off. Undo the screw located in the cup holder area to release the console trim. Lift the trim from the rear and unhook the clips holding the trim to the trim under the dash console. Reach under the trim and unplug the front 12 volt socket (or start button if on a keyfree car). Reach under again and pop out the silver trim around the gearstick (unclips from the side facing the rear of the car). Unscrew the gearknob (counter clockwise) and remove. Lift off the console trim up and off. Refit in reverse. There's no silver trims on eBay by themselves but there is a nice ST/RS carbon one for a fraction of what Ford would charge. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-RS-ST-Carbon-Centre-Console-Trim-Genuine-/171150293275?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d95a391b
