Fletch76
I'm sure I saw a how to guide regarding a rear courtesy light install, however I can't seem to find it. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to do this please? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There should already be one but only on one side?
Fletch76
Yes. I want to install one as when I put my son in his car seat I can't see what I'm doing!
leesheffield
Yes. I want to install one as when I put my son in his car seat I can't see what I'm doing! Sorry I thought you meant boot light! Mine has one in the rear so never had to look into fitting. Good luck with fitting it though
Aldoo
my sport doesn't have one in the rear either! I got a full set of ST lights off eBay though so that I could fit the vanity lights (for mirror in sun visor) I haven't fitted the rear one, but its just a case of splicing into the wires in the front and taking it to the new light ..I just didn't have the balls to cut the head liner in the back!! haha Good luck mate! Fletch76
I know what you mean. I changed the front interior light to one from a Mondeo which has a sunglasses holder. It took me a week to pluck up the courage to cut the roof lining. I was so relieved when I found that it fitted ok!
Fletch76
I could fit the light and run the cable but when it comes to connecting/splicing in to the front light I wouldn't have a clue where to begin?!?!
Stoney871
On the back of the main courtesy light there are two connectors, one is a single connector and the other is a double. Connect one wire from the new light to the single. Connect the other to the wire without yellow on it at the double connector. Incontro
I'm surprised you haven't already got one. My Sport came with one. Mine didn't come with one either - Mk2.5 Zetec. I think most don't have one tbh...
Lenny
Mine started life as a style spec focus which s much the same as an LX It came with the single interior light in the rear, I later fitted a front interior unit in to the rear its a direct fit and gives the kids there own map lights aswell as the main light. Worth knowing if you guys are fitting from the start. You can fit a triple unit just the same as a single. I can supply a single unit for 15 pounds including 9 pounds P&P if anyone's interested, Rear foot well lighting is also great for retrieving dropped toys in the dark evenings. Brigante
My ghia came with a rear courtesy light as standard. However when i bought a black roofliner and relevent a/b pillars n trim pieces etc out of an st i found that it must of been from a low spec st as it didnt have a rear courtesy light or vanity lights Wasnt a major problem as i just had to cut little holes in the roof liner to refit my original vanity lights behind the sun visors n it was getting annoying not having a rear courtesy light so i sprayed my original rear courtesy lights surround black to match the rest, cut a big hole in the roof liner n refitted the rear courtesy light As Clive says it is just a case of splicing the relevent wires from the front courtesy light and routing the new wires to the back of the car Also you mark the area where the new rear courtesy light should go, and cut a small hole to start with, you can put your fingers in and you should be able to feel for an outline already marked on the roofliner for where the rear courtesy light would have went
