Warranty & Paintwork Chips On Ford Fiesta 2012 Reg

Hi,

Ive had my car 6 months now and I just wondered are paint chips caused by stones in the road covered by the warranty? In the last month lots of very small chips have started to appear. The first paint coat has come off leaving the under coat. They're not huge but just lots of little paint chips. Im wondering whether to get some touch up paint from my local dealer or find a decent bodyshop that would do the work.

Also has anyone used chipsaway?

Thanks for replying.

I don't think stone chips are covered under warranty im afraid.

I did use Chips away a few years back , they did a good job , but they are a franchise so any tom , !Removed! or harry can start one up , they are not too bad on price generally , some people hate them , some think they are ok.

I would use them again if i needed to.

You will never get a great finish with a paint pen unless you cut it back and polish it in , just adding a dab of paint or laquer never really looks great unless you do a little more work. but it will help to stop the chance of rust if it's on a metal body section.

Some people use those awful bonnet bra's to protect the bonnet , if your doing a lot of motorway miles they can protect the finish.

I will ask around for rcommendations for a car bodyshop. I didn't think it was covered by the warranty.
