Ford Focus Service (1. Automatic)

Featured Replies

Hi

Could some of you please help!!

I have asked a garaage to quote me for the following:

Service, Air con service, and to check if there is a problem with water ingress and this is the quote he came back with:

the price for the service on your car is £199.99

that is for a full service which includes engine oil & filter
air filter spark plugs if not platinum & engine flush.
The aircon service is £49.00 & to look at your water ingress is separate which would be £96.00inc.
Is this reasonable? Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in central london. I bought the car second hand and its 10 years old and looked after very well. it has about 56k of milage (1.6 Automatic ford focus)
Thanks in advance.

Not too bad but aren't Ford main dealers now offering a full service on any Ford over 4 years old for £189.99??

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply.

I looked at the ford website and they are offering it for 189.99 as you say. I just wanted to know if people might have any good local recommendations perhaps?

I'm not in the London area I'm afraid but I'm sure someone else will be able to recommend somewhere for you :)

It's nice to get genuine parts at the dealer though!

I think thats £189 for a minor service, not sure about majors?

  • Author

i think its Major. the minor was is quoted at £119.

:o I better check that, Ford retail recently told me its 299 for my major service (due next year)

Maybe its because I have the EMAC plan that they use that instead as opposed to in conjunction with this offer...

Or perhaps Dagenham Motors dont partake in this one...

  • Author

Maybe..But they have the paticipating dealers at the end of the link i put above.

And seemingly mine are partaking! might have to have a word and see what benefits there are to jumping onto that bandwagon!

I got mine a value service for £99 about a month/month and a half ago.

Not sure if the new £189 service offer includes plugs?

And James I also got mine serviced @ Dagenham motors FIY. What's your opinion on the place?

Certainly my local dealer is great. They are fair, reasonable and reliable. I dont have any problems with them, other than the fact that they are a dealer, so they charge over extortionate fee's for parts and what not lol, but as far as the service is concerned, and the prices that I get charged for the work they do, I think they are great!
