Moan About A Droan

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I have a Zetec S 1.6 with the 17" snowflake alloys which look great....BUT, the noise from the tyres at anything over 50mph is horrendous.

The car has the original Bridgestone Potenzas on but there is still lots of tread left and the tyres are inflated correctly.

Any recommendations for 'quieter' tyres? - the ones on are spoiling an otherwise nice driving car!

Mine rides on Firestone Firehawk 700's and are very quiet. They are meant to be Fuel saver's also. But Michelin tyres are the hands down best, but cost the most...

Ok, thanks for that.

I had Michelins on my Clio 182 and they were very good.

I'll bear it in mind when they're due for renewal :)

All new tyres now come with info label into how noisy
they are as well as wet grip and fuel efficiency.

I had Bridgestones on my old civic type r

I think they tend to wear in a stepped fashion with high spots if you know what i mean, they were very droney from about half worn.

Hence i changed them early just to get rid of the noise.

Time for a new set of boots then!

@ Mordey, just been on Camskills site and noticed the different noise, grip, effiency levels of various tyre makes, and I think my next set are going to be Michelins - thanks for the info bud, I wasn't aware of the different level ratings :iim:
