How Do!

Featured Replies

Hey all, new to this Forum but a member of several others for quite a few years now.

Coming back to Ford after swearing I never would about 18 years back!

I get my new 1.0 Ecoboost Fiesta Zetec S next Monday 25th from Bristol Street Motors in Stoke.

It's white and I spec'd 17's with Privacy glass and the Sony system upgrade.

Shock buy as I'd only gone along with my daughter so she could have a Test drive and we ordered 2 on the day!

I'm SOOOO impressed with the lil 3 potter turbo I couldn't resist! The motor soundtrack is amazing and no-one could guess at the lack of CC's under the bonnet!

I couldn't care less ultimately about the Economy, the delivery of the driving experience is awesome and build quality / comfort is excellent value for money!

I'm getting out of a 2008 Hyundai i30 which has, to be fair... A VERY good car if un-exciting, a total plodder but totally reliable in the 4 years I had it.

Enjoyed reading the past Posts about your Fiestas and I think they mostly confirm my own thoughts and feelings.... Ford have a winner with the Ecoboost range!

Hi welcome :)

Welcome to the family Keith

Nice welcome guys, looks like the Forum has a Buzz about it like the face-lifted new Fiesta does.

Thats some impulse buy!

Welcome!

Welcome along Keith.

I bet the salesman was rubbing their hands together that day?

Glad you were tempted back to the blue oval, hope you enjoy the Forum.

Welcome to the forum Keith. I hear the 125 ecoboost is a lovely little engine!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,

Haha love that, the salesman had a field day! I hope you both enjoy the new cars and you will not be disappointed in the engine.

Salesman was one of my Sons in Law that work there Ross and yes... Both were delighted.

And both my daughter and I are extremely impressed with the 1 litre that thinks it's a 2 litre!

Well.... Yanno what I mean lol!

Yes it does, I currently have the ecoboost in my focus and have just ordered another one am that impressed, have only driven the fiesta ecoboost twice and on town journeys but I bet it's amazing in a lighter car! Could you keep me posted on your mpg please I would be interested to see what a fiesta is achieving against my focus. Thanks

I'm having fun with it and ignoring the "change up" advice, changing gear when I think I should or when I want to and I'm seeing 43.4 after 82 miles, mostly short drives of a couple of miles each so not even properly warmed through. It's capable I reckon of around 50, and I refuse to drive it like a Green freaky planet saver! In the light body of a Fiesta it feels quite quick to be fair... Much quicker than my last car a conventionally aspirated 1.6 petrol i30. In fact... And this is the truth... My wife has a 62 plate 1.6 Fiesta "Metal" and after driving both I'd say the Ecoboost beats it hands down!

That's great, yes I'm not much Eco friendly myself! Have fun in the new motor!

Hiya Ross, I wonder if you know anything about the l.e.d. Light strip I've seen between the glovebox door and the dash on a current model 1.25 Fiesta?

Yes, are you talking about the red lights? How can I help?

  • Author

Just if they are a stock part or Order only, how much money and what fitting is like if you can help at all? I like the look of that!

It's a standard part of the vehicle, I don't believe you can order them but I'm sure a quick call to you local dealer will confirm. You will also see a slight led strip in the storage hole under heater controls if I remember correctly.

Just found out, they are a standard part, but can be replaced at a cost of £40 + Vat for genuine part. I have looked online and can't see anybody modding them though.

I'm guessing they just need 12volts and I could use any coloured l.e.d. strip cut to size, picking up a supply from the footwell lights.

  • 2 weeks later...

Check my project for the strip your on about :) I retro fitted it myself using parts from ebay for around £4, happy to help if needed.

Yea nice job Nathan! I'm going for red to match the cup holder LEDs. I've got 3 cars to do so I'm hoping access to the wiring to the footwell light is easy enough to parallel my led strip onto.

Yeh good thinking, I just went for blue to match the lighting. If it's on the new mk7.5 then follow this guide, much easier to tap into the 12v feed.
