focus is bellowing smoke out the exhaust i mean i can even see behind me ive just taken the intercooler pipe off and there seems to be a lot of oil in the pipes? and when i started it to make sure the turbo was kicking in oil drips out the end of the pipe am i right in thinking the oil seal in the turbo has gone causing it to smoke?

Yes do not drive this car it needs new or recon turbo also u will need take out inter cooler an every turbo pipe an clean u don't want oil in these pipes ,if u run this car again might rev up a blow up ur engine

As mick says don't drive it if it goes bang it could diesel (run on its own oil) and wreck your engine as well get it done now whilst it will only cost the price of the turbo and labour .

thanks will order a 2nd hand turbo tomorro and take all the pipes and intercooler off and clean them out

and give it a mini service aswell

Mind you saying that the age of the car might not be worth the expense but your choice beware of buying second hand off the likes of eBay could just be buying more trouble .

ok cheers i only payed 200 for the car and it was mot 3 days before this happened by the bloke i bought it from and it hand a new clutch about 2 months ago so i dont mind spending a bit on the car the get it sorted as its a tidy car

Recon be best bet bud second hand turbos I wouldn recommend u won't pay crazy money for recon one an least u get guarantee
