Focus 55 Plate 1.8 Tdci Code (P0490) How To Fix?

i had this code (P0490) come up today on my 2005 focus 1.8 tdci

what is it? and how do i fix it?

    P0490 EGR Control Circuit High,so i would look for any split pipes to the egr valve,clean out the egr valve and check that the solinoid for the valve is ok.

    It's between the engine and firewall tucked up under the scuttle panel.

    Look for corrugated metal pipes and a silver chamber.
