Aux Options

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I want to install an AUX cable in my 1998 Ford Focus to come directly out the back of the radio, but there are so many options to chose from!!

Has anyone done this and could recommend a good one to buy?

I'm using a tape to 3.5mm jack adapter at the moment which is slowly killing me. I'm hoping that installing a proper AUX cable from the connectors at the back will improve the sound A LOT!

Cheers.

One of these will do the job for you -

It will plug into the cd changer port on the rear of the radio.

Just hide the box behind the dash and run the cable to a suitable position (usually glovebox).

No need to unplug the radio as the changer port is seperate from the main loom.

If the cable isn't long enough any cable with a 3.5 on one end and red/white phono connections on the other end can be used.

Don't forget the radio removal keys too -

Fantastic, thanks a lot for your advice!

Ah, my radio has a cassette player not a CD player, it's that old!

Do you know if the adapter will still work with it?

  • Solution

Yes, it should do.

The port is for an optional CD changer so should be present on a tape unit too.

Best way to be sure is pull the radio forward and look for a square port away from the main loom ports.

Thanks for the clarification, I'll double check!
