I have a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec, recently purchased and it came with 3 months of advantage cover with Auto Group. When i accelerate to move off from a stop quickly, i hear like a loud clicking/popping noise coming from the front of the car. Sometimes 1 click and some times a few, i have uploaded a video to youtube (link below), i start to accelerate at 11 seconds and then you can hear it.

If i move off slowly then i get no noise and no noise when driving, only when i move off quickly from a stop. Any ideas what it could be?

Its hard to tell from that video but its going to be gearbox itself or gearbox mount drop links front ball joints likely suspension related without it being checked over its hard to say

My bro-in-laws gf's focus had a similar problem, turned out to be the exhaust hanger on the front pipe had rusted off allowing the front pipe to hit the crossmember under acceleration & gearchange

Was just going say front suspension. ?....

Get the front strut tops checked.

Sometimes i will get what sounds like a similar noise when going over a speed bump or dropping off a kirb although it is mostly for the first 2 seconds when accelerating from stop quickly. I thought i sounds like it was coming from the drivers side but hard to tell, sounded more in middle today.
