Hi, I bought a 2008 2.0 TDCI today.

So, far so good but I have a couple of questions if i may?

Firstly i thought that the stereo unit would bluetooth to my phone. But it seems that ther version i have does not have the voice control and therefore no bluetooth. Is this right? I'm guessing it is as my phone cant detect ford audio device?

This being the case how do i connect my phone to the unit . it has phone buttons so must do somehow?

i also noticed a crack on my o/sr tailight....where is the best place online to source ford parts?

many thanks

Do you have a "phone" button on the radio control stalk off the steering wheel? if not, then it doesnt have the bluetooth module, otherwise it might be something you can retrofit, but price means you might be better off with Parrot, or an aftermarket head unit?

Secondly, for the cracked unit, how big is the crack? best thing you can do is call your local small ford centre, or local breakers and pick a unit up, otherwise ebay, or dedicated "breakers" sites are a good way to get prices from all over the country

The buttons on the radio are there purely for the owners who have Bluetooth & voice control in their car. They do nothing otherwise.

Unless you have phone buttons on the indicator stalk then you don't have Bluetooth and you cannot connect your phone to the radio.

You would need to retrofit Bluetooth (difficult & expensive) or buy an aftermarket radio with Bluetooth built in.

ok thanks guys,

thats abit of a shame....but looks like i'll have to buy an all singing touch screen nav unit then!! lol

post a pic of your dash up,i have an 08 titanium and i have it.i also have a convers screen.

my missus smax was a zetec 60 reg,and that had bluetooth aswell.

do you have the paper work/books on the car?have read up and see what it says.

then take a look on,

ford etis and see what extras your car may have.

Just make sure you don't buy one of those cheap Chinese units. They are very poor quality and have been known to catch fire. Get a decent brand like the pioneer unit.

@gregers - Bluetooth was only standard on the titanium X model. All others it was an option.

if you dont have a telephone symbol on the stalk then there is no bluetooth fitted,

The BT enabled cars also have the ability to answer/cut-off phone calls from a button ON the indicator stalk - right of the VOICE button.

if you have all of this you will then have to pair the your device to the b/tooth on your car.hence why i said about the books.
