Hi all just developed a problem with my fuel guage reading empty with fuel light on even though I got a full tank. On my 52 reg mk1 1.8tdci focus. Any help much appreciated thanks guys.

    The fuel level sender is most likely duff.

    First try going over a few speed bumps and see it it jiggles free.

    If that doesn't work check the wiring and then the sender itself.

    Unfortunately it's in the fuel tank under the fuel pump and involves lowering the tank from underneath the car.
