Hello. New to here, as i'm curious if anyone's had the problem i've now got.

The man at kwik fit has failed my 58 reg focus for MOT because the 'shape' of my headlamp beam is wrong, and he reckons he can't adjust it. Now telling me i need 2 new headlamps to pass !

I'm sure he's either wrong or there's an easy solution.

Any thoughts, y'all ??

    They can only fail a beam on the pattern, not the shape of the beam. Unless the beam is travelling at an "excessive angle" (i.e. the light is travelling at 90 degrees to the side of the car) but claiming the shape... It sounds like kwik fit wanted to make a kwik quid on you!

    You havent changed the bulbs and not fitted them correctly by any chance? Sometimes the bulbs dont sit flush and as a result the beam pattern goes off kilter.

    Thanks all. Yes, I fitted bulbs and they may have, er ... loosened. :)

    I took it elsewhere and man fitted 1 new bulb and adjusted both lamps. Now got a ticket and i'm claiming the 35 quid back from kiwik fit. Not expecting much but at least i ain't spent hundreds on new lamps. Thanks for your help fellas.
