Fiesta Transmission/brake Failure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I believe this is two separate issues but they may be linked.

For the last week or so my car has had this problem whereby I'll have it in either manual or auto and there will be a delay in the car changing gears.

For example the car will be in 2nd in automatic and will want to change to 3rd but the car will lose power momentarily, with me unable to accelarate before it changes up to 3rd.

The second problem is I was stopped at traffic lights recently and the orange exclamation light came up on the dash and the car lost power. I turned the engine off, back on again and the light was still on but I could drive again as normal with no loss of power in the brakes or the engine. When I arrived at my destination, switched the engine off and back on again the light went. The light has been gone ever since.

Has anyone got any ideas of what may be going wrong here or if the two are linked?

thanks for your help

The car is a Ford Fiesta 1.4 Finesse Semi Automatic with a 1.4v zetec engine

I'd get a code reader off ebay and read the fault code.

I found out the other error is actually the orange exclamation mark with like a cog/circle around it. So the problems appear to be linked.
