Fuel Pump Failure.

Featured Replies

I took delivery of a new Fiesta Zetec Ecoboost 1.0 on 20th December. I've had numerous Fiestas with no problems but last week this car suddenly just cut out and fortunately for me I was able to coast to the side of the road and call for the AA. I now realise I should have phoned Ford Assistance but that's a different issue. The guy from the AA spent best part of 2 hours trying to fix it and finally gave up. He was pretty sure it was a fuel pump problem but couldn't get it going. It's been back in the garage for a week now and said they have ordered a new fuel pump. Has anyone else had any problems? Car has 258 miles on the clock. My fear is that this could have happened when travelling at speed on the motorway. I had made 3 trips along the M8 over the Festive period and dread to think what could have happened had I been doing 70 mph on the outside lane and the engine cuts out. Brand new car and back in the garage. Really not happy. Have I just been unlucky or is this a problem with the new models?
