Engine Swap?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking at swapping the engine in my 2010 Fiesta 1.25, to a MR155 (Mountune tuned 1.6). The engine comes with the gearbox, air box and ECU. Would this be possible, i.e would the new ecu just plug and play or would it be an extremely complicated pain in the !Removed!? If anyone has anything to share then it would be a massive help, thanks!!!

In a few words yes it's a simple swap over if u can get the engine cheap sounds like a good idea

I would have thought the costs involved (especially increased insurance for the rest of ownership) would far outway any savings. You'd be better off selling yours and buying a 1.6 if that's what you want.

Would the brakes ect also need upgrading ? The insurance will be bonkers I bet..

Brakes are the same across the range, but if honest I'd recommend it; at least go with some disks in back.
