Help Please... Brake Problem!

Featured Replies

Hi all, could use a bit of advice if you can help.

I have a 2004 X Type diesel (part for part almost identical to a Mondeo), great car until the coil spring snapped last week lol.

Anyway, a friend of mine changed the spring for me but the car then developed a knocking noise on the drivers side when I’m braking. I was due to have the front brakes done so today we fit new discs and pads.

The brakes work fine but the knocking noise was till there when we took it for a test drive. After jacking it up again my mate showed me the new drivers side disc, whilst it’s a flush fit and everything is tightened up correctly there seems to be a little rotational moment in the disc due to the five holes being slightly larger than the wheel bolts.

Could this be the problem, could it be that the disc is rotating slightly when braking causing the knocking noise? And if it is what can i do to address it?

Many thanks in advance

sounds like you might need to replace the centre hub there?
