High Mileage Maintenance Diesel Focus 2010 (Zetec)

Featured Replies

hi folks, im new to the club, looking for some general advice.

I recently bought a car with high enough mileage, 83000 miles on clock (2010 focus). My work will see me accumulating between 20-25 thousand miles per year so im looking for advice on;

- how to maintain the car as best I can

- any general tips on servicing

- care for diesel cars

- any other info that may be relevant

thanking you in advance - any advice very welcome - thanks eamonn

Always let car heat up before puttin foot down when u have turbo u should always make sure oil changed regular an always let car idle for at least a minute before switching off u want turbo always have constant oil feed I wouldn buy cheap diesel either

I let it sit still for at least 5 mins after a long journey ie 50 miles or so.

Plus also make sure you use genuine ford service parts when it's service time

If your going to be doing high mileage, give it a full service now, as Ford or any garage will replace only oil and filter as standard.

Also, treat your car to a Terraclean service. This will breathe new life into the engine. As you are doing high mileage, you should be able to maintain the DPF without too much trouble!

Otherwise, give it TLC, service it regularly and you will find it to be a very reliable car!
