Intercooler Pipe Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Lx Estate 2006

Featured Replies

I recently obtained a new intercooler pipe for my focus part no 6K683A. The new pipe is an upgraded one piece compared to the original which had a plastic elbow at the top end with a thick ring that connected it to the throttle body. I am not entirely happy with the new pipe as it seems to have a minor kink as if it isn`t the correct pipe. The throttle body on my Focus looks completely different to the one pictured in the Haynes Manual. Has anyone come across this problem, thanks for any help.

There are two pipes listed under that basic number-

Did you buy the part yourself or was it the parts counter that dug it up for you?

They may have given you the wrong one.

Did you have the wrapping with the part whereby you may have the label with the Finis code on it for comparison with the codes on the picture above?

Thanks Stoney 871, The local Ford dealer printed off the diagram you enclosed however they highlighted the part 6K683A which indeed looks identical to the part fitted. The part number for the pipe pictured alongside and to the left of the one in the diagram was blanked out. I ordered the part off Ebay with the seller also displaying the above diagram. It's all a bit annoying considering that I only actually required the rubber ring at the top end of the pipe which of course isn't available as a separate component. Incidentally the rubber ring/seal has identifying numbers 12Z07007 EPDM 12. My original motivation for replacing this component was that there was oil apparently blowing out from the base of the throttle body where this hose connected. Any other assistance with this issue will be greatly valued
