Brill thanks. What is the recommended gap for the plugs or just put them straight in when Come. Cheers

Those NGK iridium ltr5ix-11 are gapped at 1.1mm. Some will tell you 1.0mm, however if you check the NGK catalogue it will tell you 1.0 for mk2 and 1.3 for mk 2.5. Then again it also shows the ltr5ix-11 as a straight upgrade.

My mk 2.5 1.6 (albeit the ti-vct) has tr5b-13s in it. They were there from the factory and I replaced with the same too.

The plugs should be gapped at 1mm but is think the plugs I got wee already pre gapped to that so I put them straight in. No issues with idling or anything

If this problem I get is the plugs how come it mainly only happen when the car seems to have warmed up? It has fsh and was serviced last October but was wondering if it include a new fuel filter??

I know on my focus the fuel filter is built into the fuel tank, so is not changed on a service

a lot of it will be trial and error until you find the right solution I have changed alsorts on my car, nothing made a big difference and luckily new upgraded plugs solved it. It might not for you, just depends on how much you want to go with finding the issue.

When you say Coughing, does it feel like a misfire, mine was all jumpy and kangarooy around roundabouts in 2nd gear with high revs. Is there a particular issue at a certain amount of revs is it low down up higher up the range

Think I will get new ht leads and a coil pack in my local motor factor over the weekend and give this a try. Is is easy to fit the new coil pack in??

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile app

My mechanic is gonna test drive my car next week to see what he thinks the hesitation could be. He said possible ht leads or coil pack on way out. Gonna put new ht leads on it anyway I think.

I replaced my coil pack and ht leads with proper ford ones and it didn't really make a difference

Well I don't know what to do now then?? If it's not them then I got one messed up car unless all focus 's are the same??

Well I replaced my coil pack and new ht leads so see how it goes. Got my mechanic looking at my breaks Saturday to see if need pads and he said he will have a run in my car to see what he thinks.
