Indicator Light Stays On After Ignotion Off - Help!

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2001 1.3L Ford Fiesta (uk)

I've been having a problem for the past while now where the left indicator (front & back) stay on.

I used to be able to fix it by clicking the central locking key a few times, but now it stays on constantly and won't go off which is running my battery low every day.

I've tried taking out and replacing every fuse on the electrics board but nothing will make the light go off.

Has anyone had a similar problem, and do you know how this was fixed?

Thanks.

Gary

It was never really going to be a fuse - all of the indicators are protected by fuse F17 in the interior fusebox. So whatever problem you had with one side, you would have with the other.

I couldn't find any information on relays, as that was my first thought but I don't know if, like the fuses, one relay would affect both sides.

I've attached a fuse diagram I found, as it gives the locations of earth points - you should probably check those for signs of corrosion and make sure they're all good. A bad earth can give you any number of odd problems.

Thanks BigD

Sounds like a bad earth or a short connection.
