Featured Replies

i have a 2010 focus 1.6 tdci anyone no where the eolys tank is.

2010 1.6tdci focus does not use any kind of dpf fluids and does not require any kind of top ups on dpf fluids

Your DPF is self-regenerating, no Eolys fluid is required.

Thanks for the reply ...if no additive is needed does this mean my car has the new cdpf fitted. If so how long do they last before they need replacing.

if indeed you have the cDPF, they should be neverending, but then again, it depends on how successful it was. I havent seen any owners of the MK2.5 with the cDPF advise that they need to replace the filter.... So it would seem that they should be ok.

The problem though is that although not a serviced item, it may still break down or have issues.

I would advise though, that although the car was registered in 2010, there is the ever so slightest possibility (if its the MK2.5) that it was manufactured when the standard DPF filter was present, and may have sat in a warehouse before it was registered, so I wouldnt say 110% you definately do not have the standard DPF, however its highly unlikely that you do have this filter.

The reason for my concern is the car has done 72000 miles and is used as a taxi,I have phoned the dealers to book it in for eolys top up.They said it had dpf and needed the top up.I rang them back and said I'd been advised that the car doesn't have the eolys tank so they checked again and agreed that it doesn't, although he didn't seem sure about it .I've checked underneath and there's no separate tank for eolys is there any other signs to look for.The car was registered 09/09/2010.

To be honest that's pretty much all l there is to it, I'm fairly sure it will be ceramic
