Advice on a Focus

Featured Replies

I am going for the tests very soon and hoping to pass of course

I know its a bit premature but I been looking at cars. Call it the excitement.

I have really got my eye on a Ford Focus. I have always liked them. Not looking for a brand new one. Perhaps a 1999 one or 2000.

What would be a decent price for one? Would prefer a 1.3 engine.

Also what are peoples opinions on these?

Cheers

Well im sure you can get a very good oen for around £1600-£1800 without a problem. i just passed and got a 1.8 zetec 81k miles for £1795! knocked him down abit etc :P

there fantastic first cars, smooth drive quiet when running, big and full of space. and look damn nice!

couldnt ask for a nicer sized car!

The smallest engine in a focus is the 1.4 and tbh its too small for the car. The 1.6 is lowest I'd go but for respectable oomph and decent economy the 1.8TDDi cant be beaten. Mine regularly returns 45mpg round town and 60mpg on a motorway run. Now for a car thats always carrying a lot of weight (me and a heavy twin sub box) thats !Removed! good. As for insurance, a 1999/2000 focus TDDi is group 4 insurance so wont kill your bank account.
