Clutch Or Gearbox??

Featured Replies

I have a 2001 focus ghia, Last night when i pulled up from work my car jerked and has decided it doesn't want to go into gear (apart from reverse) when the engine is running. However it goes into gear when the engine is not running. The clutch pedal has become very slack and seems to stick when quite low to the floor and doesnt want to come back up. any ideas on what could be wrong with it?

Sounsd like it could be the clutch return spring, check the spring ont he pedal itself, see if there is any obvious signs of wear and tear...

That's your clutch, mate. Possibly your thrust bearing. Not the cheapest thing to replace, as I'm sure you know.

Just thought - if the pedal is very slack, it's possibly a snapped cable. Much less expensive to fix ^_^
