Higgsy iv had this playing in my older car but ill give it a go mate and yes it is that one

I've done some investigation of the problem using info from this post and the other one where we advised you on which unit to but.

If the one you have is the Connects2 CTAFOUSB005 module then we may have steered you in the wrong direction.

The B005 unit only works with radios that have the CDDJ button in place of the AUX button, it basically works in a different manner as it simulates an external CD changer not an AUX source.

Big apologies if I was responsible for giving you duff info.

The ads on ebay are very sparse on the part where they tell you about compatability and even when they do mention it (I found one in about twenty listings that even mantioned something about CDDJ and AUX) it's very ambiguous.

I personally use one of these-

It's an original Ford unit and definitely runs memory sticks with no faff.

It may be worth giving the seller of the module you have a shout to see if they can advise and assist you best.

A couple of items that may be compatible, I strongly recommend checking before committing though (should have said this before TBH :()

Once again, big apologies if we steered you in the wrong direction.

ok iv just been thinking about somthing and for the sake of spending 3 pound . iv just orded a aux to usb lead . maybe just maybe this might

If it is the case what Stoney says it the manufacturer that's not being clear, however apologises from me if it is actually not compatible as based on the info from the manufacturer and various other sites I made an assumption it would work. About the only thing it says on their site is it needs to be a 6000CD with centre vol control for focus 2004-2011. Now the only manual I could find on line for audio was from 2006 and shows you press the CD button twice - no mention of the cddj button. I can only assume the cddj button is a feature of the newer mk 2.5 6000CD. On looking (even) further online I found info that kind of indicates you will either have cddj button or aux, but not both.

If you bought it from eBay I would open a case saying not as described and ask for a refund explaining why.

As for the cable - that isn't going to work, the unit needs an interface to read a USB stick.

Might also be worth contacting connects2 technical support to clarify the situation, as I imagine this isn't the first time this has happened.

If you can't get this one to work I think your only options are that Chinese HU in the other thread with USB built in or the official ford music box Stoney has.
