Broken Rear Coil Spring!

Featured Replies

Sooooo as above my o/s/r coil spring has snapped! Bad times! Is this a hard job, could I do this on my drive, also would it be worth doing all 4 and maybe lowering or uprating? Could I swap to st tdci parts as I have a ghia tdci?

Thanks Liam

Anyone?

The mk3 rear springs are not bad to do on the drive. The front however are a bit more of a pig.

The whole strut needs unbolted from the rear which is just a few bolts and no hassle, brake caliper unbolted first.

The ST tdci springs are the same as any other tdci, I went for Sachs as I got them at a good price at euro car parts. Sachs are also oem anyway.

Is it worth doing both sides? Just in 2 minds to do the lot in 1 go? Knowing my luck the others will go within weeks

I would do the other rear spring certainly.
