Mk7.5 Rear Diffuser

Featured Replies

I've just been and collected my new st rear diffuser from ford, it's getting painted at the bodyshop tomorrow :)

post-44466-0-07128100-1395921648_thumb.j

But I'm looking for some help or guidance in removing the old ZS diffuser, I've seen that there's two pot rivets under the corner flaps, do I need to drill these out and give it a pull ? I've seen EGD5M's guide but doesn't mention how to get the old one off. Just looking for any help or info before I give it a go. Thanks :)

Sorry I can't help you with that, but how much did you pay for that and the exhaust tip? Will look good once finished!

I payed 110 for the parts from ford and 30 for the exhaust from halfords :) thanks dude I'm hoping so, can't wait to get it fitted.

Doesn't the zs exhaust angle downwards? If so how will you fit the new tip?

Ah I see. That's a great mod for the price

I may be wrong here but i think I read on here that the end pieces are different from the zs to the st

  • Author

I know hopefully will look good and no that's on the pre-facelift. The facelift has the corner pieces on the zs :)

nice and for 110, you can't go wrong at all

I know i just couldn't resist, looks really good on the st in my opinion.

I think it looks great too. Are you having the bottom candy blue? What happens with warranty if you end up cutting some of the exhaust off?

Yeh it's going getting sprayed candy blue tomorrow :) and I don't think anything happens ? It's only an inch or so to straighten it, they'd never notice. if it failed they would but what's the chances of that ? Hahaa

if this looks as good as i think it will i'll be investing in this little mod

  • Author

Hopefully it does, just need someone to give me a little bit of info on removing the old one before I go for it at weekend Hahaa

Think this will look really good

  • Author

Hoping so mate, just gotta get the old one off and fit it no problem hopefully

Have you had a quote to spray it yet ?

  • Author

Yeh it's going in with my car tomorrow :) he wanted £50 to spray that part.

You can't really go wrong, all that for under £200

  • Author

I know yeh :) il just keep the standard too so I can make some money back on selling the st diffuser when I get rid of the car

Gun metal the alloys and it will look a different class

  • Author

You reckon ? Thinking about that, but wasn't sure if gloss black or gunmetal would look better than standard colour

Yes the rivets need drilling out.

  • Author

Thanks nath :) then just give it a firm pull ?

Maybe photoshop the alloys but I think Gun Metal would look good on Candy Blue
