Flip Key Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all, I got 2006 S-Max with 3 button non flip key. Is it possible to upgrade to 3 button flip key?

I was planning to get used one from ebay, get new blade and have it reprogrammed by local auto locksmith.

How can i check the transponder type to make sure its compatible?

Thanks for help

You'd be better off getting a new key as I believe the carbon ID4 transponders can't be re-programmed.

Aftermarket ones with full RCL circuit, transponder and a new blade are about £30 on ebay.

I got one for my Focus and it works perfectly.

Thanks for that info, you saved me few £'s.

I had a look on ebay and found flip key for s-max but it states ID63 transporder and another one 4D63 transponder?

Is there any way to check mine or it doesn't matter?

Thanks again
