Engine Malfunction Light

Featured Replies

I have a 2009 Ford s-max zetec with just turned 50.000 miles on the clock. It has recently started when under acceleration above 2500 to 3000 rpm the engine malfunction light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. A friend of mine has put it on his diagnostic and it is coming back saying that the waste gate on the turbo is stuck in the closed position.Does anyone have any ideas on this on how to release this or is it a new turbo?

could be just in need of an itailian tune up to get it working again.

drive it like you stole it.

That would be ok apart from when you try to drive it like that the light comes on and it goes into limp mode. I'd love nothing more than to give it a good thrashimg to clear it out, just frustrating that it won't let me.

does it come on straight after a restart?

mine most of the time doesnt,so thinking about yours as soon as your light comes on restart it as soon as safley you can and then try giving it a blast.
