Hi

This is my first post.

I have recently bought a ford mondeo estate auto with 128000 miles.

When accelerating there is a quiet scraping noise I assume is gear box related. I've had the car into ford and they reccomend a) changing gerbox oil and b) chain due at 125000 service. The cost of this in total will be about £500.

I'd be interested in what recommendations people on here would give.
