I have a 2002 1.4 TDCI Fiesta, with a g/km of 121 g/km on the log book.

as of 18 july 2002, the g/km was 120. Mine was registered on 12/11/2002.

Is there a way to test or change the g/km? as I believe the fault lies with the salesperson that filled out the docs when it was brought into stock.

Its £30 per year at 120g/km......£110 at 121g/km!

Which model? A friend of mine bought a Ford Ka a few years back and there was 2 he was looking at but different tax bands even though both same engine. It could be without air con 120 if yours has air con?

I have researched a bit, this page has lots of info, it might be a tyre size problem, saying its 15" not 14"

to be honest, there is little you could do! the sales person isnt really at fault here as you bought the car and it would have been sold as per the specs that Ford offered as it left the factory. Your options are limited.

You could argue that the car is in fact the 120g/km and get Ford to acknowledge that, and you could then approach the DVLA / VOSA / DfT to see who would be responsible for updating the log, they most likely will not take into account what Ford said.

Alternatively, you could have an emissions test and report completed, however, you could be looking at a worse answer. You could result in your g/KM being higher, and then the appropriate agency charging you more tax than you are already paying.

True, I know these points because I have been in the car trade for years.

I checked the Glasses guide and it shows all 5dr zetecs with AC to be 120 g/km, so there is more evidence.

Thinking of an extortion case with the DVLA should they refuse, will be fun i'm sure.

Hopefully little evidence is required to prove it's only a minor error but I hope they don't go out with the agro!
