I've bought a 2001 Mondeo 1.8 Duratec HE.It has a diesel sound, presumably the tappets need adjustment.

Its not flaps - those were disconected by me. I need a good mechanic around the Manchester area who will be able to help me. And btw how much does it cost roughly?

They use buckets for tappets think u need put some sort shims in wat mileage it could be very expensive job camshafts could be worn are u sayin u broke flaps out inlet manifold

I did disconnect pipe that goes into mainfold . That disable flaps? Milage is 130k. As far as I know buckets need to be changed. No shims in durated. Those ones are in zetecs. That's why I need good mechanic around Manchester to sort it out.

Your talkin major money chain an camshafts would have be removed then price new buckets how much would u value ur car at

Its not worth much ;0 I know that. It look like all day job - plus time to order correct size buckets. I do have timeing chain set - get it with car. Just wondering how much it can cost. And im sure it need to be done because car do have lpg instalation - and that requires tappets clearance to be checked more frequently. I even consider drive to let say poland - holidays kind of ;0 and have it done there ;0

I be lookin at 5 to 8 hours labour depends on where u bring it who did LPG conversion I would do dry and wet compression test aswell before u do it see wat condition ur engine is
