Problem With Mk1 Facelift Nearside Suspension

Last week i found that i have a coil spring gone so got all the bits also a few extras to do ie, ball joint and stabilizer link arm. Started doing the job and ran in to problems the bolt that holds the bottom of the suspension leg was totally seized so put a bit off force onto it to find the nut just round off. So i decided to take off the suspension complete with the hub. I tried to drill the bolt out but all the drill bit seems to do is nothing. i have also noticed i have to drill out some rivets to fit the new ball joint i have.

Do you guys have any advice on how to get around this ? What drill bits do you guys use?
