Door Locks And Ignition Key

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2001 ford fiesta flight and the lock on the drivers side door has got some damage on, it still works but just broken up and doesn't look great (so just an aesthetic thing really).

What I want to do is fix it/ change it but don't want to have different keys for different doors and ignition etc etc.

so was thinking swap out both door locks and the ignition so that it all works on the same key. Easy enough I should think. The only problem I can see is with the immobiliser and the new keys starting the car.

I have seen a load of posts saying about recoding the keys so it works with the immobiliser but you need 2 coded keys (I only have one).

How / What is the best way for me to get the car to the point where I can open the doors and turn on the car with 1 key and have the lock on the drivers side looking like it should?

Thank you in advance

Sam

also would like the boot and petrol cap to work on one kay as well. sorry forgot to mention that

the best thing to do is just replace all the barrels. I believe that you can configure the tumbler to the key so that you dont need to replace the key. There are various guides on youtube showing you how to do this. Its tricky and faffy but gives you the result you want.

It's easy to read a tibbe keys code.

The sections on a lock barrel are numbered so simple to get in order.
