Went today to Classic Car Show in Spalding (Sprigfield grounds) and saw there a couple of XR3i convertibles. These looked quite cool and I really liked it.

I am wondering if Focus CC will become a future classic just like XR3i cabrios?

There aren't many of these on roads and production has stopped after only 4 years. Some will probably say Ford done a right thing of killing it but I really love the car. :)

What do you think?

Horrible leaky wobbly thing with a chassis made of custard.

Only good thing about it is that the front bumper is a direct fit onto a standard MK2. :p

I think that in 25 - 30 years time Focus CC owners will believe their CC is a classic

Huh, in 25-30 years I will be a classic! :D

Definitely!, Think 20 years ago sierra's and Cavaliers were the best selling cars in the UK and they sold in the tens of thousands they were everywhere , today you never see'em hardly? Even though car's are plentiful now they'll soon be scarce 10-20 years from now as we live in a disposable society.

Most of the old classics either rusted to bits or were left wrapped around trees.

They say there are more Escort RS Turbos than xr3i-s now, back in the day every 2nd street seemed to have an xr3i on it and they seemed to outnumber RS turbos 10 to 1

Some cars that used to fill the roads have become endangered species and the RSs, etc have been kept

Cars you might not consider classics may become classics - like the ST220 - there were not that many sold in the UK

I think if a car was desirable in its day, has something special about it (like its a performance model) and is rare, it will probably become a classic eventually

Don't think that CC is particularly desirable so not many were sold in the UK. I've seen a figure of 6000 cars but not sure if that is accurate.

I personally love the car but it just like Marmite - you either love it or hate it.

Just like morris minors

Wishfull thinking I believe. From what I understand from a mate who is the body shop manager at my local Ford dealership, the CC's get written off very easily after a shunt. The margins are so finite in getting the roofs to seal properly, it just isn't worth their while to attempt repairs and then have upteen problems with the roofs leaking.
I guess this goes for most twin tin tops. Dare say rag tops have a bit more leeway when it comes to precise tolerance margins.
On top of that, I would have thought parts will be a problem once the breakers won't have any stocks. Shame because we love ours. Owned it from new since 2007.

You do realise that this post was started on Star Wars day 2014?

Chance is the car in question is now a Dishwasher 😂

I have had one for 6 weeks and love it. I have had Focus STs and just recently a Kuga PHEV, but love the CC and ability to have the top down, Handles much better than the Kuga PHEV St X
