Phil 87
I finally have my ST3, pics below :) I picked it up last Wednesday but only got round to taking photos this weekend after cleaning it. As you all probably expect, I absolutely love the car. I've had a lot of fun with it already, even though I'm taking it easy for the first thousand miles or so. Already done nearly 500 miles which was mostly driving it back from the dealer, but also had some fun up in North Yorkshire this weekend. I can't wait to really put my foot down and see what it can do, just trying to restrain myself for a while longer :)
Clarky2013
can you get a close up of those new pedals? I've heard newer ones come with the pedals, bit miffed mine didn't get the new style as its only a few weeks old aswell
Clarky2013
and btw very nice car :) I don't know how you restraining yourself, just drop it into second and floor it and its fantastic :P
Phil 87
Thanks, and yeah it is hard to resist flooring it, I've only done it once to overtake a lorry. I'll get a pic of the pedals tomorrow if I remember.
Clarky2013
A thing I would check (I apologise if you already know this) check the PSI on both front and rear tyres. as you know the st ride is harsh anyway, but there have been st's coming out of factory with 40 psi and it should be 36 front 26 rear. It makes a lot of difference on the ride if the psi is right worth checking. did mine this weekend and front were 39 and rear 28.
Phil 87
Yeah I checked the PSI after I got it back, was on about 33 front and 28 rear so not too bad, now at 36/26 and I'm very happy with the ride. It's obviously a hard ride but still comfortable.
Clarky2013
:) cool, any mods planned? Are you mountuning it?
Phil 87
I think I'll mountune it at some point, but I'm not planning on any other mods. Maybe I'll change my mind at some point though cos I'll be keeping it for a few years I think. It's not really a car that needs modifying to be honest :)

Phil 87
What has the ST3 got over the ST2? From the price list: Sony DAB Radio/CD with Navigation System Ford KeyFree System - Keyless entry with Ford Power Starter Button Cruise Control Automatic headlights Automatic wipers Auto dimming rear view mirrors Electronic Automatic Temperature Control Power foldable door mirrors with puddle lights I got all the other options too, after adding the style pack there wasn't much left. It was just things like the spare wheel and adjustable boot floor which are worth having.
Phil 87
Knew you would love it Phil they are ace aren't they. Whereabouts are you in Yorkshire by the way? They certainly are, I've wanted one since it was first announced :). I'm just south of Leeds, still need to find some good driving roads cos I've not lived here long. I'll probably have to head north a bit.
Philf1
I'm in Halifax and work in Leeds. Nearest decent roads are around Huddersfield over towards Outlane and over the moors to Oldham. Also from M62 J22 back down into Rishworth is a decent one. My favourite roads are North Wales though. If you fancy meeting up for a chat PM me and we can make arrangements

MattDRX
Is it me or do the blue ones look fatter at the front. Looks meaner / wide arched, jealous. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Ford OC mobile app
DaveTheDog
This has got to be the best colour for an ST, it looks THE business, a zillion times better looking than say plain white. Don't think I could sleep at night parking next to a tatty Land Rover & van, I'd be counting door dings in my sleep.
alexp999
I'm going to have to stop reading the Fiesta forum, seeing all these STs, lol. Very nice, the exact car I would order. :)
Phil 87
Is it me or do the blue ones look fatter at the front. Looks meaner / wide arched, jealous. I think it depends on the camera and where you stand. These were taken with my phone but I've noticed if you take pictures with a camera, and stand far back and zoom in, the proportions look very different. This has got to be the best colour for an ST, it looks THE business, a zillion times better looking than say plain white. Don't think I could sleep at night parking next to a tatty Land Rover & van, I'd be counting door dings in my sleep. I'm waiting for a cheap CCTV camera (actually just a dash cam) to protect me from those door dings, and anything else while it's parked. The window behind the car is my bedroom, so that's a good place to hide the camera :)
DaveTheDog
CCTV is a good call, it's worth it for peace of mind. I have a dedicated CCTV system which records in high definition 1080P at 25FPS.High definition does consume hard drive space at a fair rate of knots though, had to install a 4tb hard drive. Phil 87
Yeah I might have to invest in proper CCTV, for now it's just a £10 dash cam recording to an SD card lol.
Phil 87
I forgot to mention the only problem I've had is that there's quite a bad scratch on the roof which I'm sure was there before I picked it up, but I only noticed it when I got back on the same day. Luckily I've persuaded the dealer to help me out with getting it fixed, but what should I expect in terms of cost and how it will be fixed? It's quite a big scratch, about 2 inches, and i can feel it if I move my fingernail over it. Here are some photos:
MartynS
Interesting you say that, I've got some scuff marks on my passenger rear quater panel under the clearcoat (you can't feel them and they are clearly below the surface) that I really need to mention to the dealer as they have been there since November when I got the car. I've never mentioned it and keep forgetting about them as I rarely see them, but it does need sorting. I too though wonder what will be done, surely a respray will show? This might be half the reason I haven't done anything about it, as I fear the result may be worse than it is now. That said, they do show quite a bit when the angle is right. Though 6 months down the line I don't know if they will even accept it! You shouldn't have to pay anything as it was like it when new. MattDRX
They'll use an acrylic paint to fill it and polish it. Only way to do it without a complete strip and paint. Touch up pens are !Removed! and don't last long at all, acrylic ones don't last that long either but more than touch up sticks. Ultimately it depends on the skill of the person doing it, which unfortunately you won't get a say in. If you go it on your own I'd use magic man to do it, most skilled general repair men on earth. Phil 87
Thanks, it's good to know what to expect in case the dealer tries to get me to accept a cheap fix. If I'm getting it fixed I want it done right, so if I don't like what the dealer tells me I'll get some quotes from professionals. At least it's on the roof which is the best place for a scratch to appear really. It's not going to face a lot of wear and tear up there, and probably won't be noticed by anyone if it's not a perfect fix.
