How To Dip Mirrors For Reversing

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am a new car owner and am accustomed to dipping mirrors when reversing. Usually I have done this electronically in the cars of instructors. I can't see an obvious way to do it in the my recently acquired Ford Fiesta Ghia, but have discovered I can do it manually. Can someone tell me if there is a switch or if I'm meant to be doing it manually?

Sorry for posting such a banal question...

Its only a feature on a few of the latest cars. Most cars on the road including your Fiesta Ghia wont have this feature.

Its not something I or most people have ever used so wouldn't expect to find it in a car, however I can see that it would be a useful feature if that is what you have been used to.

Thanks for the quick reply! That'll come in handy when I go out today... I won't worry I might break them adjusting manually (though obviously I'll also try to reverse without needing to adjust them).

Only car I have had to do that was my last one, the BMW

What do you mean manually, if you're worried about breaking them? You shouldn't push the glass with your hand but internally, should be motorised on a Ghia?

Hmm well I can't see where the switch might be, if there is one....

It doesn't work on my brand new mondeo titanium x business edition. Looks like you needs full power seats (and therefore the memory function) for this feature.

Actually I found I can do it electronically! There is a small round button quite high up that does it, so it doesn't look anything like what I'm used too. So that's good!
