P1100 Engine Fault Code

Featured Replies

Hello all

Recently got an engine management light appear . Got a fault reader which indicated p1100 mass air sensor intermittent . Tried to reset but this doesn't work. Bought a new mass air sensor but that didn't stop the light coming on again.

I have read there might be an air leak does anyone have any ideas where it might be or how to check

Hi Stephen,

Have you checked the connection? it sounds more like a wiring issue than a sensor fault.

Moving to the mondeo section.

Is the car a mk4 as I have mk4 with the same code but no light and I have heard a lot of people have the error code but no lights so you might find the problems is somewhere else maybe fuel filter

Hi Aaron,

Ordinarily if the difference between the air flow reading and expectation is too big, then thats when you see the error light (engine management light) but if its not causing an error (i..e its not affecting performance) then the light doesnt come up.

I know have checked conecctoion and inspected by anothergarage replaced the maf and the error always shows

I have found a hose connection to the diesel particle filter off one of the pipes. It looks likes it has burnt off. Got new pipes/hoses from ford.£100.

The fault is still there

There is an issue somewhere that much is for sure, have you done any sort of multimeter testing between the pins make sure there is a voltage there?
