Ford Fiesta Engine Shield

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I have a ford fiesta 1.4 tdci 2008, my engine has been cutting out in heavy rain and only starting again 20 mins later. I have been told this is due to my car not having a 'engine shield/under tray' beneath my engine preventing water from splashing up, can't seem to find one online, any ideas where to pick one up?? And if infact my car should have one? Any help is much appreciated,

Thank you

Jack

sign up to breakeryard.com and pop the details in, then any car breakers who have one should be able to help and send you quotes for the part. I believe that it is there as standard, so you will need the t30 torx screws and the shield and you could fit it yourself. Although, I would say you need to look elsewhere as well.

I wonder if your getting water in the GEM board (fuseboard, passenger footwell) or in fact the engine fuse box. Either of these can cause issues and as the water disipates, and the heat of the engine helps to dry it out, then the car can be started again.

Check both of these for any signs of water ingress and go from there.
